Flybe have based an E170 at Dyce, taking over from the E190 that has been here. Good to see their expansion continuing apace.
Funny thing is there actually isn't a huge difference in seat count but the economics must justify it by cutting down the empty weight, overflight charges and airport charges. BE
have gone for over eighty seats in the 175 which is by definition designed for 75 seats. IIRc it's 83 or so, an extra four rows.
There's also the cabin crew bonus because under 100 seats means one less is needed. I wouldn't be surprised if ABZ
gets more based units as they are very right-sized to make money at regional airports.
