easy for me it had to be BEA trident (yerk)
I got completley cheesed off seeing those things they followed me like the grim reaper. when i thought i escaped one up it turned up at palma airport..
now favourite one is difficult i have broken it down to the following.
Swissair CV990 smokey joe.
Iberia DC8 63? treat at heathrow but common as muck at palma
and the seaboard world DC8 63!
military it has to be the USAF Boeing B5
I love everything, if I had to name one I would say Flybe Dash 8's.
One-Eleven as they were based at Manchester, so every other flight or more was one of the damned things. They even looked dull as dirt in the "British" livery.
The Conway powered 707s were also a pain as they were just noisy and did IT
flights towards the end for British Airtours. All now sadly missed!
anything russian, flown in one !!!!!!!
Now i just like to think of those good old days and the aircraft i saw ! except BEA and Air fungas.Aer lingus)
I agree with Flybe Dash8's and what about British Airways Airbus shuttles, further back possibly Brittania 737's.
111s for me back in the halcyon days of the 1970s. They were like pigeons and fulfilled the role long since taken over by Ryanair 73s. Tridents were an occasional visitor to MAN
in the early '70s but they picked up later on towards 78-79 and became quite common as I remember. I liked them.
I loved Ringway as a kid and spent many hours on the terraces gawping at Dan Air Comets, Transeuropa Caravelles, the inevitable Laker 10s and Wardair 74s and I often wondered what the future would be like. Well... it's here and it's mind-blowing compared to 1976.
Nowt much,missed out on piston 'liners,but that's it.RB
But how we miss them now.
A380. Almost as bad as the B747 Dreamlifter, now that is fugly.
