That's what this forum is for, if you want to share memories and any photos you might have then feel free.
Ports of Call was, if I recall correctly, a US
outfit that flew several aircraft over the years and were a charter company. The Canadian one was (and I'm stretching here) an ex-CP
DC8-43 with Conway engines. This was back in the days when holiday companies operated their own aircraft much more often.
Ports of Call were a Denver based outfit,renamed Skyworld in '86.The only reference i have,copies of WAF,only list B707's & CV990's.RB
Re my last post:I've spent some time checking my '86 APL,NO
mention of Ports of Call having a DC-8.My only guess,is it was a sub-lease.Maybe you saw a 707 or 990 & thought it was a DC-8!RB
Ports of Call Canada operated their only ever Manchester programme during the Summer of 1989. Unfortunately, only one aircraft was used which was DC-8-52 C-FNZE (c/n 45985)
thanks e563xvr,i have a few fotos but couldnt remember the reg or year
Checked a later APL,C-FNZE was indeed owned by Ports of Call, but not the Denver based one.RB
Apologies. It was indeed POINTS of Call. The one bit of information I forgot also to clarify!
Ditto.I mis-read Points of Call,so we've now cleared that up.RB
ORIGINAL POST DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MANY TIMES C-FCRA VISITED MAN
ANOTHER QUESTION.WHY DID THE
FRENCH AIRFOCE NORD NORATLAS USED TO
C-FCRA made its first visit on 18th June 1979 and made two further visits during the year.
It then made two visits in 1982 and three visits in 1983.
It made three visits in 1984 and made its final visits on the 5th January 1984 operating YYZ
The French Air Force visits were predominantly training flights.
