Unlike the airport to the North aka as the Mancunian shopping centre and the landing ground inside the M25, BHX
is a great airport for travelers. Bags arrived before we made it through immigration (which took some time thanks to a lot of soldiers arriving at the same time - yes, they can travel in civvies, but using desert camo knapsacks sort of gives it away, especially when there are about a company of them), short walk to Europcar, bloody road works (not the airport's fault), quick car hire return (even smiled), fast at check-in. hassle-free security, expensive beer (what did I expect? It's an airport
), short walk to boarding gate.
I will definately use BHX
I recently flew from MAN T3
Security at 0430 was busy but queued for no more than 2-3 minutes, straight through to airside for a few drinks before boarding our flight (parked remote but still departed early).
Upon arrival back to MAN
I was off the plane and in my car within 10 minutes, I had no luggage to collect but luggage was on the carousel before I passed the reclaim hall.
Aint all bad up there, ya know
In one month I'm heading to the UK
to do a job (follow up the installing a new video conferencing system at one of our subsidiaries). With flybe starting direct flights between OSL
from late October and ScanAvPhoto's good experiences at BHX
, I may well end up flying to BHX
and avoid flying to MAN
. My last flight from BHX
more than one year was complete hassle-free, but that flight was to a domestic destination. Traveling light is not my cup of tea, but I still don't want to spend long time in the reclaim hall - SAS
, Swissport and MAN
isn't the best combination in this respect.
