Qatar Airways will deploy its first A380 onto its Doha to London Heathrow route from June 17, it was announced today. Cameras at the ready... (courtesy of Business Traveller)
I certainly hope that Hamad is open by the time they put that/those in to service. I wouldn't like to be sat at the back of a 380 in economy arriving at Doha Int'. A full 380, possibly another aircraft or two just arrived too - and that immigration que?? Wow, good luck with that!
Really looking forward seeing a 380 in Qatari colours, hopefully I'll catch it leaving, Doha.
Thanks for the heads-up, Baltimore.
Just checked on the Qatar website and this flight is still down as a 777. I had a drive out to Hamad (fully operational now) a couple of days ago and couldn't see a 380. The views of the new airport are quite limited, in fact, you can't even get around to the Northern and Eastern perimiters due to its location on the coastline. I'll check the local rag and website again tomorrow - and I'll have a drive back out there on Monday.
Hello, Delayed until 1st August :/

Hello, Delayed until 1st August
Thanks for the update, Alan. I'm heading back to Blighty this coming Saturday for 6wks (need to escape the furnace) so I'm afraid I won't be able to do any more reccy trips out to Hamad to try to see whether its's on the ground.
