I have heard that on Friday 9th November 2012, the second Trent XWB Flying Test Bed is scheduled to arrive at East Midlands Airport, and depart on Sunday 11th. The XWB engine is on an Airbus 380, alongside three Trent 900s. Does anyone have any more details, such as times?
Not heard anything but if there is a second test aircraft it's likely to be the A340-300 that Airbus use for engines. It's been used for the Trents before now.
Rolls have also used a 747-200 for the Trent 1000 but engines destined for Airbus generally get tested using the A3
Pretty sure it's a 380. Anyhow, I'll find out later this week to confirm and hopefully get the flight times.
