"Attention all Antonov An-225 spotters. Antonov-225, the world's biggest aircraft, is scheduled to fly today so you will hopefully be able to track it on Flightradar24 or spot it live on an airport.
First flight will be from Kiev to Riga. Departure 09.10 UTC (12:10 LT
). Arrival Riga at 10:40 UTC (13:40 LT
Afterwards it will probably fly from Riga to East Midlands. We have no confirmed times but departure should be around 14:00 UTC (17:00 LT
) and arrival to East Midland around 17:00 UTC (18:00 LT
The An-225 will stay in East Midlands overnight and depart at Friday around 09:00 UTC (10:00 LT
Make sure to follow Flightradar24 on Twitter for latest updates about An-225 flights https://twitter.com/flightradar24
Please note that An-225 can only be tracked with MLAT so Flightradar24 is only able to track it on altitudes above about 10.000 feet http://www.flightradar24.com/how-it-works/"
I can't make it, but hopefully some of you who live closer may get lucky if it does turn up!
Flight radar twitter feed is suggesting that departure from Riga is delayed. I have no further info on when or if this flight will leave for East Midlands.
On its way, a couple of hours out.
